First Prize winner of the 2016 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, flutist Anthony Trionfo has been hailed as “a musician of prodigious talent and scintillating personality” by Oberon’s Grove and a “breezily virtuosic flutist” by the New York Times. Anthony has continued to bring his love of music to diverse audiences around the world not only through his playing, but through his passion for education and community engagement.

From 2015 to 2018, Anthony was a teaching-artist for the Jumpstart Young Musicians Program and is currently a faculty member with MusicAlly, a virtual learning platform that provides musical instruction to all interested students regardless of their financial needs.

In June 2020, Anthony curated Learning to Listen: A Roundtable Discussion Addressing the Nuances of the Black Experience within the Classical Music Community and Beyond that currently has over 85 thousand views and has been a catalyst for diversity, equity, and inclusion work in numerous music organizations. Anthony is passionate about advocating for positive change, accessibility, and representation for BIPOC and Queer communities.

Anthony completed both his master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the Colburn School Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, California under the tutelage of James Walker. While at Colburn, he was named a Teaching Fellow and studied the art of pedagogy under Dr. Robert Duke. He has had additional studies with Nadine Asin, Timothy Day, Dr. Megan Lanz, Emmanuel Pahud, Mark Sparks, and Nancy Stagnitta.
